Section 1: Introduction
Inputting your shift preferences is an essential step in creating your upcoming schedule. During this process, you'll select your desired shifts for the schedule period. Once the preference input window closes, your selections will automatically be submitted to your Nurse Manager for review.
Section 2: Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Launch the M7 App
This app is most likely already installed on your phone from your M7 training session.

- Prefer using a browser? Open your preferred browser and enter your facility’s dedicated website URL: [facility name].m7health.com.
Step 2: Navigate to the Planning Tab

Click on the ‘Schedule’ tab in the bottom left hand corner of your app.

Then, choose one of the following options to enter the ‘Planning’ view:
- Tap the purple banner at the top of your screen that says, “Preference input period closes in X days.”
- In the upper right corner, switch from ‘Current’ to ‘Planning.’
Step 3: Check Your Shift Requirements
At the top of the screen, you'll see three boxes tracking:
- Total Shifts scheduled
- Weekends assigned
- Shift Blocks selected
These help ensure you're meeting all your scheduling requirements for the period.
As you add your preferences, you’ll see the required number of shifts start to add up at the top of your screen. Make sure to fill up all weekly requirements for your schedule to be successfully submitted.
Step 4: Begin to Input Your Shift Preferences

Tap on a specific calendar date to bring up a row of shift tiles at the bottom of your screen.

Select shifts one day at a time or multiple days at once. Your selected days are highlighted in black.

Click on the desired shift tile to assign it to the selected day(s).
You can also enter days for hospital-mandated non-patient work, blocked days you wouldn’t like to work, and personal days that you aren’t eligible to work.
Need to remove a shift? Here's how:
- Select the date with the incorrect entry—it will be highlighted in black.
- Tap the grey ‘Clear’ button in the bottom-left corner.
Step 5: Review & Confirm Your Preferences
- M7 automatically saves your selections in real time—no manual saving or submission required!
- At the end of the preference collection period, your choices will be automatically sent to your Nurse Manager.
To track the preference input close deadline, refer to:
- The countdown in the purple banner on the ‘Current’ schedule page.
- The purple text in the upper-right corner of the ‘Planning’ tab.
