Section 1: Introduction
M7 has updated its templates to allow the following:
- Template patterns can now be up to 12 weeks in length and can be shorter or longer than a designated schedule period.
- Definition: A rolling template is a rotation/pattern that does not correlate with the length of a schedule period.
- Example: Staff Member A works every third weekend in a four week schedule period. The actual weekend they are working changes with each schedule period (i.e. this weekend will rotate to be on the first, second, third, or fourth weekend of the schedule periods based on the start date of the template)
- All templates will automatically apply to all created schedules in the “Collecting” phase
- Schedulers will no longer need to manually apply templates starting on 1/29/26
Section 2: Important Notice & Actions
‼️ Important Notice: You will no longer see the option to “apply” templates because M7 will automatically apply all templates to “Collecting” schedules created starting on Thursday, 1/29/2026.
➡️ Action: Please review your roster(s) and un-assign or delete any templates that should not create shift preferences. Otherwise, preferences from these templates will automatically be applied for associated staff in future schedules starting on 1/29/26.
